Rev. (Dr) Ayodele Babatunde gave his life to Jesus Christ in September 1976 and was baptised in the same year. He got married to Sister Olufunmike Florence (nee Akinwunmi) on August 29, 1987 and the marriage is blessed with wonderful children.
He received the call into the full-time ministry in 1981; Rev. Babatunde responded to it in 1991.
Before he answered the call, he had served at various capacities in the Lord’s vineyard. He served actively in his local congregation at Olivet Baptist Church, Oyo and at the Scripture Union of Nigeria (Oyo Branch) in the Youth Ministry, Sunday school, Evangelism, Prayer Ministry, variously as Committee member, secretary, chairman or President.
Rev. Ayodele Babatunde served the congregations at Oke Bola Baptist Church, Oke Bola via Ogbomoso and Federal Estate Baptist Church, Ipaja, Lagos as a student pastor. He was diligent as a student at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomosho, Oyo State and won distinctions and awards. The awards include The William Jester Award for Student Representing the Seminary Ideal and Academic Excellence (1995), and the Certificate of Merit as Student Body President. He had in 1978 been adjudged the Best Student in African Traditional Religion at the Wesleyan College in Ibadan.
Since his assumption of duties as the minister of education and outreach, Rev. Babatunde has demonstrated a very high sense of responsibility and a single-minded devotion to duty that have been the hallmark of his ministry in this church. Under his leadership, he has led the church to plant or to adopt several churches over the past fifteen years.
